  so on page 8 of the new kool-aid edition the woman's seed of genesis 3:15 is mentioned.

  the paragraph says that jesus is the "principal part" of the seed.

  they go on to say that the secondary part (since when was there a secondary part .

  rules about kids going door to door alone?

  my stepdaughter, who just turned 12, was telling me about her most recent door to door experience and how excited she was to get her first return visit.

  i was pretending to be happy for her and not horrified, and listening to the story.

  but then she said that the other person with her at the door was her 13 year old friend, also a girl.. i know the org doesn't seem to care much about children and their welfare, but is this normal?

  i'm new to this board and looking to see what it's all about.

  i'm currently an unbaptized publisher and third-generation jw, so for obvious reasons i can't give my real name due to personal concerns.

  Secret signal to find each other at District Convention

  last year this was brought up and it was a great idea but maybe a bit too late.

  do you remember the "secret signal" that was going to be used?

  it should not be mentioned in the main thread, only through email and pms.

  Interesting, Ray.

  There should be a second layer of protection IMO. Something similar to what the hookers use with potential Johns (ask them to touch them first before agreeing to anything, as the Police would not do that).

  Of course, I am not suggesting anything physical , maybe something definitely incriminating to infiltrators.

  Say you see the potential "apostate" and after exchanging (whatever) the secret sign, get into a brief discussion about how the GB are old bozos and JWs do not have the Truth.

  No "real" infiltrating witness, especially elder, would go the length to even utter words along the lines above infront of other people.

  Which would automatically fail the litmus test.

  Are major earthquakes on the increase??

  a jw writes as proof that 1914 is key.... the newencyclopdiabritannica (1987) lists 63 major historical earthquakes spanning the past 1,700 years.

  of this total, 27, or 43 percent, have struck since 1914. the book terranonfirma, by professors gere and shah, has a list covering a longer period.

  of the total significant earthquakes in that list, 54 percent have taken place since 1914. even granting that records from past centuries are incomplete, we cannot escape the conclusion that in our time mankind has been greatly affected by earthquakes.. does anyone have access to the the newencyclopdiabritannica (1987) or info that would either support or refute the above allegations.. .

  Strawman argument.

  First off, the statement is ambiguous and not quantifiable (plus, greatly affected maybe positively, as we developed more earthquake resistant technology).

  How we are affected by earthquakes is not an indicator of their frequency or distribution over time.

  but i think it's profound to people that still think like the wt trained them to think.

  even after coming out of the wt, they still feel that all christians believe that they alone have the true religion or denomination.

  march 12, 2001 i left bethel.. march 12, 2011 i started a personal bible reading project that was supposed to strengthen my faith as a jw before the memorial.

  instead this was the beginning of my awakening..
